Review Methodology
How we go from hundreds of options to the few products we actually recommend.
Every recommendation on Axoventis follows the same rigorous process. Transparency about our methods is just as important as the recommendations themselves.
Our Process
Research & Expert Consultation
Before buying a single product, we spend weeks researching the category. We interview subject-matter experts to understand what actually matters in a product and what is just marketing.
Market Survey & Selection
We survey the full market: bestsellers, editor favorites, emerging brands, and expert-recommended products. We narrow to 15-40 products representing the full range across price points and use cases.
Hands-On Testing
We purchase every product with our own funds — no review units from manufacturers. Each product goes through standardized testing plus extended real-world use. Testing periods range from two weeks to six months.
Evaluation & Writing
Our editors compile testing data, user feedback, and expert input into comprehensive evaluations. We identify top picks and explain why we chose them, the tradeoffs, and who each product is best for.
Ongoing Updates
Reviews are not one-and-done. We continuously monitor for new products, price changes, and reader feedback. When a better option emerges, we update our recommendations.
Our Standards
- Independence: Editorial decisions are never influenced by business partnerships, advertising, or affiliate revenue.
- Self-funded testing: We buy every product we test. No review units, no gifts, no sponsored placements.
- Transparency: We explain our testing methodology for every category.
- Diversity: We test with a panel reflecting diverse needs — different body types, skin tones, living situations, and budgets.
- Corrections: When we get something wrong, we issue a correction publicly.
How We Make Money
We earn a commission when you purchase a product through our affiliate links. This never influences which products we recommend. We participate in affiliate programs including CJ Affiliate, Impact, Amazon Associates, and ShareASale. Our editorial team does not know or consider affiliate rates when making their picks.
